Shhh…It’s a Secret!

April 21, 2011

I was recently asked to shoot a secret wedding.  I’d call it an elopement but that traditionally means the couple runs away together.  In Kristen and Michael’s case they stayed right in their own backyard!  The beautiful Hotel Providence was the setting for the ceremony, formals were in DownCity and the reception for 2 was at the intriguing Local 121. Makeup (and hair..gasp!) by the lovely and talented Kirsten Brusse of Joli Visage Makeup Artistry. Photos by yours truly.

…and they lived happily ever after.

Nancy & Gary | March 19th, 2011

March 27, 2011

It is always an honor to be asked to photograph a wedding. But for some reason, being invited into a couple’s home to record their wedding seemed extra special to me. Here’s is a sneak peek into Nancy & Gary’s wedding…

The bride, Nancy, greeted her guests at the door. How cool is that!

That’s it for now! As you can see, it was a beautiful night. Beautiful!

Mini Shoots Rock!

March 24, 2011

Back in March, over the course of 2 days, I shot a series of twelve 20 minute sessions along side my good friend, and fellow photographer, Melissa Lacouture. All in all, we did 24 shoots in 2 days! And although I now have PTSD due to the popping, rubbing, floating away & tangled ribbons of the balloons, I am very PROUD of the photographs! Here are some of my favorites, in no particular order, of course.

POP!

Instead of using my own words to tell the story behind these pictures, I decided to use the text from the birth announcement…

We welcome with great joy and love, our daughter

Simon & Miles

January 13, 2011

Here’s Simon. He’s the older brother.

Here’s Miles. He’s the little brother. He really wanted a picture in his green vest. I happen to think he looks real sharp. It certainly brings out the green in his eyes!

This pose was a favorite this year.

Don’t you just love those missing teeth!

I think Miles was trying to see his future in this crystal ball…

So Simon comes over to help…

Apparently Simon saw his future and is sharing some very important news! This is also my favorite Christmas card picture of the year. Yes, this was the picture they used!!

I’m not sure how much Miles liked this kiss but his expression cracks me up.

Nice job, boys.  Nice job.

Emily, Andrew & Julia

January 12, 2011

When I first took pictures of these kids, the twins were 13 days old. At this shoot they had just turned a year…and as they say, what a difference a year makes!

As you can see by the one shoe off, these two were quite active. Only their mom and I know the real story behind this shoot!

Big sister Emily gave this shot to me as a Christmas gift. I know she did.

Oh, hello Andrew. I love you.

I think she was singing to me!

Perhaps Julia wanted the green necklace?

Yes, that’s exactly what she wanted. A girl always knows which accessories look best on her, no matter how young.

Behing the scenes.

A sweater vest never looked better!

I call this “Best Emily”. This is her honest to goodness real life smile. And I adore it.

More Veronica!

January 12, 2011

She is back. A little older and a lot cuter!

And how do you like the debut of the super cool Drop It Modern back drop. Only the hippest of photographers have one (or more) of these. Now accepting donations for more more MORE!

Ronnie is one of those kids who just seems to know what to do at a photo shoot. She makes it look so easy.

SO, I now have a secret weapon. Giant lollipop. Chances are, if you have a shoot with me, you too will delight in the sweet goodness of a lollipop that is bigger than your child’s face!

I LOVE this shot with all my heart. I can’t stop looking at it!

More lollipop!

Why yes, I do have a picture of a cowgirl in a tutu eating a giant lollipop. Why do you ask?

I always love the look of this white chair. Bought it at an antique store in the town that Veronica’s mom is from, coincidently.

Before they left, I talked the fam into a walk down the dock outside of the studio. This is what I got. A perfect last shot!

OMG She has FOUR Boys!

November 12, 2010

Yes she does & she looks this good!

Meet Kathy and her four boys…the last two were twins. Needless to say, she has a great sense of humor.

Having a few boys myself, I knew I couldn’t stick them in the studio and expect them to smile for the camera. So we went to Waterplace Park in downtown (or is it downcity?) Providence.

I love the above shot with the city skyline in the background. I especially love The Biltmore. And the shadows. And the sun flare.

Every place we went was a new adventure.

This next series rocks!

I brought RING POPS!

After all was said and done, I went back to my car and I had 4 minutes left on the meter. Which I thought was cool because of the four boys…you get it.

Pretty in Pink

September 29, 2010

I have a really good friend, she just happens to be 5. Her mom & I are friends, too. So when I had the chance to photograph the 2 year old baby of the family I was super excited! Not only because she is as beautiful as her big sister and mom but because I knew I’d make a new friend.

Here she is…

She has always loved her bellybutton!

Little sis & big sis stand quietly watching a bird in the birdbath.

With her daddy’s canoe. I could stare at this one for hours!

I also have to thank my beautiful friend Melissa for opening my eyes and letting me see the light! I heart you.

Fox/Croft Wedding *Part 4!

September 27, 2010

The Reception….

but first, the bustle!

Another of the bride’s beautiful centerpieces that she hand crafted.

These were very cool champagne flutes…they came apart! Which was news to me when I was taking this picture because I just couldn’t figure out how they were both going to drink from them.

Parents of the bride.
